P5M2 is based on latest Intel® Xeon® 3000 / CoreTM 2 Duo processor, Intel® 3000 MCH, Intel® ICH7R and Intel® 6702 PXH 64-bit PCI Hub chipset, which achieves 102% better performance (SPECjbb2005) and 69% reduction in processor power (65W compared with 110W) than its predecessor, will provide immediate dual-processor level performance scale-up.

One Design for Dual Use
There are five expansion slots in this serverboard, including: one PCI 32bit/ 33MHz, two PCI-X 133 / 100MHz, one PCI-E x16 (x 8 link), and one SODIMM socket for ASMB3-SOL. It's not only expandable for rack-mount chassis, but also meets most pedestal applications with BMC expansion. For better thermal solution, the DIMM slots are paralleled to the airflow to reduce air block; and CPU is located at the border side to cool down effectively.
