ZyXEL ES-3148 is a high-density L2+ managed switch with 48 10/100Mbps RJ-45 ports, two GbE copper ports and two dual-personality SFP/copper GbE interface. Coupled with the advanced ASIC hardware and switching capacity of 17Gbps, the ES-3148 is an ideal platform to power premium triple-play applications. What makes the ES-3148 unique is its robust and highly available system design. The support of 802.3ad Link aggregation reduces network downtime by providing more packet paths and bandwidth aggregation to critical paths. In case a link is down, IEEE 802.1w RSTP allows the ES-3148 to quickly recover from failed links and send packets through a backup link. The 4G uplink not only gives superb transmission bandwidth, but also allows you to set up Gigabit aggregation. In addition, BPS is also available for feeding in extra DC back-up power to prepare for any unexpected power failure. These bandwidth guaranteeing and priority optimizing features maximize bandwidth usage and provide premium quality network service.Furthermore, to optimize IP Multicasting applications, IGMP snooping also get supported. For flexible bandwidth control, the ES-3148 allows you to limit bandwidth usage to the granularity of 64Kbps.

The multi-layer ACL (L2~L4) protection on the ES-3148 shield against potential network threats. You can create security settings by setting (L2 ~L4) ACL parameters (such as MAC, VLAN, IP, Protocol type,TCP/UDP port and DSCP). You can also create up to 4K VLANs to implement different security policies. For user access control, the ES-3148 supports port-based IEEE 802.1x user authentication from a centralized RADIUS server. Foe device access control, you can configure MAC freeze, MAC filtering and limit the number of MAC address learned on a port. The ES-3148 also comes with the intrusion lock feature designed to prevent unauthorized access. In addition, the ES-3148 is capable of providing enterprise-class L2 VPN with VLAN Stacking (Q in Q) to enhance security protection. Thus, the ES-3148 allows you to implement a strict layer1 to layer4 security protection.
Convenient, Hassle-free Network Management
With a number of management methods (iStacking™, SNMP, Web, telnet and the console port), the ZyXEL's exclusive iStacking™ technology allows you to manage a switch cluster (of up to 24 ZyXEL switches) through a single master ZyXEL switch. This significantly reduces operation cost and provides the flexibility of maintaining multiple ZyXEL switches. In addition, network administrators can choose to manage the switch using the friendly web-based configuration or the convenient text-based CLI (Command Line Interface.).
