The Digimax V50 employs a 3X optical zoom with a focusing distance of f=7.7-23.1mm(f=38-114mm when compared to a 35mm camera). When used in conjunction with the 5X digital zoom, it results in a 15X zoom capability.

MPEG-4 Movies : Superior Quality &; Long Recording Time
The Digimax V50 supports MPEG-4, a high-compression, high-quality movie clip file format, which can record up to 4 or 6 times longer than MJPEG, the usual format for DSC movies. The camera may be used as a camcorder since it supports more than 1 hour of video recording time with 256MB memory. Moreover, it processes up to 30 frames per second in VGA class size (640X480), enabling playback on television screen maintaining picture quality and outputs double-sized screen on a personal computer. With the Digimax V50, users can have audio on their movies . The length of the clip is only restricted by the amount of memory available.

2.0" Large Rotating TFT LCD
The Digimax V50 provides a large built-in rotational 2.0?117,000 pixel) TFT LCD screen. (Many digital cameras provide smaller 1.5~1.8?LCD screens.) The LCD screen may be rotated up to 270 degrees enabling users to photograph themselves or to capture low-positioned subjects when holding the camera up high. Also, the screen can be rotated to adjust the LCD visibility when outdoors with bright light conditions.

A Unique Function: 9 Different Power Source
The Digimax V50 supports no less than 9 kinds of power sources, including AA Alkaline, AA Lithium, CR-V3, and rechargeable Ni-MH batteries, as well as a dedicated Li-ion battey.

As for the AA type alkaline battery, you can only use the high capacity type. Do not use the normal type alkaline battery.

The Digimax V50 provides a Multi Card Slot for a Memory Stick Duo and/or Secure Digital Card/Multimedia Card. This expands memory capability beyond a single card type. Moreover, the Digimax V50 supports a Copy-to-Card function, enabling the user to copy files from one card to another.
