4 Port Ethernet Network Module
In late 1996, Cisco Systems introduced its Cisco 3600 series as a family of modular, cost-effective, high-performance, dial access solutions targeted at regional and branch offices and small to medium-sized Internet service providers (ISPs). In 1997, Cisco announced further extensions to the capabilities of the platform, such as Fast Ethernet, internal digital modems, voice over IP, and high-density async, adding multifunction capabilities to the initial dial access solutions.
Now, with this announcement of the new ATM 25-Mbps network module, the Cisco 3600 further expands in flexibility for its role as a multifunction, branch/enterprise-orientated platform by adding ATM 25 support for connection to external ADSL modems. This module, part of Cisco's broad portfolio of CPE and CO DSL products, allows branch offices to take advantage of the higher bandwidth and Quality of Service (QoS) available with DSL services.
Please reference Appendix A for the current line of network modules and WAN interface cards available for the Cisco 3600.
